My New Swimmie Therapist

Hi everyone, last Sunday I met my newest swim (therapist) coach. Her name is Erika and she's a "vet tech" but she's also adding swim therapist to her list of accomplishments. She's really nice. I think that everything will be fine.

Here's another picture. My new swim coach Erika with my other swim coach Jolena, who is going to concentrate on animal massages for agility dogs a bit more. Jolena wanted to ensure that the "hand over" went well. Thank you Jolena.

Later on after I dried out a bit. My dad took me for a walk but because it was quite warm and sunny out, he put a "cool coat" on me that helps keep me nice and cool due to evaporative technology on sunny and hot days. Just wet it with cold water, wring out the excess, and we're good to go.

See you soon.

  6. Hi Sam! I've never heard of a cool coat before--that's pretty awesome! I wonder if my furry ones would like it...I wonder if they make cool coats for people that 'melt' when it gets over 90°F:)
Thanks for the introduction to your new therapist.
    Blessings, Aimee

  7. We have seen those cool coats at dog shows, and they seem to really work!

I was wondering, have you been able to wag your tail again?

    1. Hi, thank you for asking about my tail. I haven't wagged it very much since the video. I have my peeps a little confused. I wag it sometimes but not consistently. We're not sure whether it's the acupuncture needles that provide a "connection" between my brain and my tail because I'm able to speed up and slow down my tail wag so that shows that I have control. I can also curl my tail tight under my belly when I'm in my cart if I want to but most of the time it just hangs straight down. I wag sometimers but not often.

    2. Hopefully the acupuncture will continue to help. But I bet you show your feelings in those expressive eyes! :)

We have an award for you on our page.

    3. Thank you. I can remember my dad leaning into my enclosure before my back surgery and asking me if I wanted to die. I just looked back and him and my dad said, "he doesn’t want to die, just look at those eyes, do the surgery". My mom and dad haven't looked back since.

  16. I talked to a vet dermatologist today. She is not in Tallahassee but does come here once a month and it will cost 300 to 400 dollars for the test she will go through. I am going to see if Treats can help with the cost. Treats is a bunch of people who help only cats with vet bills that their Mom and Dad can not afford. I found this vet on the inter-net.
