So What Have You Been Up To?

Hi everyone, I'm sorry that I've been absent for awhile but I wanted to thank a number of my friends for stopping by my bloggie to say hello and for asking how I've been. Thank you - it's nice to know that someone notices.

My peeps have had lots to deal with. My mom's dad passed away a couple of weeks before Christmas, my dad's been doing alot of work on a house - mostly prepping and painting anything that had a lick of paint on it previously. He even had to cut out all the old grout and redo that too. Yes, he even "sealed it". I think that he likes an office job better. I think that he was hoping Maggie and Mitch's dad would come up to help. But no such luck. Mom's been working 7 days a week and long hours. Her area is undergoing changes and they had to let someone go - something about efficiency and money. And then there's people stuff...but we're okay though. We still have the very nice people who come by to walk us, I'm still swimming but at a different pool and without my friend Bre. We're still getting chiropractic treatments, I'm still getting monthly acupuncture treatments and we're all getting really good food so we're all fine. It's my peeps that are a little tired. But we'll be okay.

So during the time that I've been away, we've had all kinds of different weather. We've had snowy days...

We've had sunny days.

We've had rainy days. Ruins my "Wookie" look, don't you think?

We've had really foggy days. Ah dad, what's that story about the headless horseman?
Is that really Kirsten's (Peaceful Dog) friend?

We've had cloudy days. Most of the time, we have to wear our coats when we're out.
But that's okay. There's always something to sniff.

And see.

Bonk.

Thanks for stopping by.

It's a new year and I got some new wheels

Hi everybody, Happy New Year.

I put alot of miles on my wheels and generally they'll last about a year.

 See the bald, treadless area?

So my dad ordered new tires for me.

See how nice and shiny they are?

Okay dad, let's go for a walk and try out my new tires.

So you wanna rumble?

Sometimes there's never a dull moment around here. And when something bad happens, it'll always be at the most inconvenient time. Take yesterday for example, it's 6:00 PM and pretty much everyone is going or has gone home to be with family and friends for their New Year's celebrations.

Well, at 6:01 PM, Owen and Jetta decide they've had enough of each other
and it's a full on fight.

Result? Well, mom and dad get to take Jetta (who appears to have gotten the worst of it)
to our local animal emergency hospital.

While waiting for Jetta to be seen, my mom and dad are sitting in the corner listening to the chirpy and too upbeat receptionist ask multiple people whether they want their pet's ashes back or an imprint of their paw. My dad's pretty horrified and retreats to the farthest corner

Finally, Jetta is ushered in and the nice vet examines Jetta and locates a puncture wound below the left eye, another puncture wound on his left front leg and three lacerations inside Jetta's right ear.

Jetta's battle damage is listed as minor and the vet believes that Jetta should heal quickly without any lasting issues. He's given a short course of pain killers and antibiotics and my dad is given a bill. Owen appears to have no punctures nor is he showing any signs of injury but my dad will take both combatants in to their regular clinic tomorrow.

Oh, by the way, my dad called Sunshade's mom before driving down to the emergency clinic and Sunshade was attacked shortly afterward by a small dog, so they went to an emergency clinic too. Sunshade suffered some lacerations to her eye muscle but no (thank goodness) damage to her cornea. My dad hopes it wasn't his "bad karma".

So what did you do on New Year's Eve?
